Park Inn Ostrava Celebrates Successful First Year

Ostrava, 4th August, 2009 - Since its launch almost one year ago Park Inn Ostrava has become the city’s leading hotel destination and reports growing demand for accommodation and conference facilities. Despite the difficult market conditions, the monthly occupancy reaches 60%, with July being the best month so far. Czech guests remain the strongest client group, but overall visitors from abroad now represent nearly two thirds of the hotel’s clientele, with 32 different nationalities to date.

“Park Inn Ostrava certainly benefits from being the newest modern product on the Ostrava hotel market and in a great location. However, that alone wouldn't be enough. From the very beginning our business strategy has been focused on delivering excellent service and becoming the hotel of choice for returning clients,” said Gabriela Dítětová, General Manager of Park Inn Ostrava. A corporate client segment has grown thanks to major new operational facilities recently opened by Komerční banka and Česká Spořitelna that along with  HSBC and GE are turning Ostrava into a financial hub. “In addition, events and conferences hosted in Ostrava constitute an important part of our business. This year’s prestigious events, such as Sledge hockey championship, PGA tour and the popular Colours of Ostrava have generated crisp business for the hotel, but what I find more important, they helped promote Ostrava as a destination, which is critical in the long-run for a successful hotel business,” said Dítětová.

The new Park Inn Ostrava has also been recognized by the industry and collected several awards since its opening. Most recently, it became the first hotel in the Czech Republic to receive Safe Hotel Star certification - the highest level of fire safety certification by FEU (Federation of the European Union Fire Officer Associations). On the regional level, Park Inn Ostrava was presented with two awards - “Best Building 2008” (Dům roku 2008) and “Best Project of the Moravian-Silesian region 2008” (Stavba Moravskoslezského kraje 2008). These awards follow up on the success from last year, when Park Inn Ostrava Won „Best CEE Hotel Development 2008“ awarded by Construction & Investment Journal (CiJ).
