The Orchard office and hotel complex will grow in 2007

Ostrava, 7 February 2007 - Property development company Red Group has launched construction of The Orchard office and hotel complex that will, by the end of this year, transform the former rundown site on Hornopolni street in the centre of Ostrava into a modern and vibrant working and living environment.

"The city has been experiencing a flood of interest and we wanted to respond with an approach that stretches beyond the usual Grade A office space. The Orchard will be the first complex in Ostrava to provide a full range of business to business and lifestyle services for which we feel is an increasing demand," said Barry Cullen, General Director of Red Group. The initial phase, planned for completion in 2007, will deliver the first office building and the hotel.

The EUR 50 million development consists of three seven-storey office buildings providing a lettable area of 36,000 m2, a business hotel with 185 rooms of international standard, and a conference centre, complemented by restaurants and a health and fitness centre, all aimed to accommodate blue-chip occupiers. The modern architectural design was created by Ostrava-based architectural studio OSA Projekt. As the general contractor Red Group appointed Czech construction company IMOS Brno.

Red Group has 15 years of experience in procuring, financing, and building on the Czech property market. Currently the company has over 275,000 m2 in the pipeline. Properties in the existing portfolio include, the Walter Jinonice development, Nagano Office and Technology Park and Stara Boleslav Automotive Park. In addition, Red Group is also planning the reconstruction of two stunning buildings, the Hermitage in Prague and Palace Padowetz in Brno, by turning them into prestigious hotels.
